After designing the LRC58 in 2013 and the XPM78 in 2016, the architect decided to fill the gap between them. In March 2020, the LRC65 design came to life.
The designer kept the hull narrow and low volume while making the boat feel more generously proportioned than the LRC58. The hull’s length is 20 m, 5 m wide, including the rub rails. Besides passage-making, the boat can easily fit into European harbors and sail the French canals to or from the Mediterranean.
The extended wheelhouse roof allows the installation of 16 solar panels (169 x 105 cm) for a total yield of 6,8 kWh (and counting). The alloy weight estimate is 8.2 tonnes, compared to 5 tonnes for the LRC58. The displacement will be 22-25 tonnes.
The LRC65 design was completed in August 2021. The build of LRC65-01 started in January 2022 at Aluboot and splashed in September 2023. The build of LRC65-02 began in March 2023 at Aluboot.
